2. Little Africa
Little Africa is one of North Melbourne’s most loved neighbourhood restaurants, serving Ethiopian and Eritrean food on Victoria Street. It has a warm, intimate feel and a menu that suits people who want something flavourful, filling and built around sharing.
The main experience here is injera dining. Ethiopian and Eritrean meals often centre on soft, tangy injera bread served with slow-cooked stews, lentils, vegetables, spices and meat dishes. The best way to eat is with the table: tear off pieces of injera, scoop the different dishes and move across the platter together.
